Janet Mooney’s versatile voice enables her to perform in a variety of styles. As a concert soloist, she has performed a broad range of programmes with many orchestras including the RPO, RPCO, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, BBC Concert Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, Metropole Orchestra, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra and English National Orchestra. Artists she has sung in duet with include Michael Ball, Willard White, Gino Vannelli, Aled Jones, Ben Kramer and Robert Wells. Operatic roles performed include: Carmen Title role Susanna The Marriage of Figaro Musetta La Bohème Zerlina Don Giovanni Despina Cosi Fan Tutte Betly (Donizetti) Title role. UK Premiere. Papagena The Magic Flute Miss Julie Title role Janet made her début at English National Opera in The Bacchae and created numerous roles in contemporary operas. As a studio singer, she has performed on many recording sessions for television, films and radio. She is Mariah Carey’s ‘opera’ voice in the film The Bachelor and also features on the soundtrack of Antz, The Extraordinary League of Gentlemen and Shooter. She has recorded numerous roles in new musicals, including Eloise in Rage of the Heart, alongside Michael Ball. TV work includes The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, The Royal Variety Performance, Sherlock. She was the featured voice in the British Airways Flower Duet campaign and also performed on the award-winning Honda Civic Choir campaign. As a backing vocalist, she has recorded and toured with many artists in a wide range of styles. Janet recorded a solo album, Secret Love, for BMG/Sony in the Netherlands.
